here is our first Coronavirus/Quarantine song, in response to my personal need for reaching deeper and finding a feeling of connection with something greater. I’ve been so inspired by so many others who have done the same and have shared, but there is something very powerful about doing it for oneself. so I encourage you to find whatever mode works best for you . . .

I'm not supposed to touch you now,
but I want to give it a try
with these words and with this melody
I want to hold you while we cry
all the changes in the days ahead can’t help but shake us all
I hope that we can rise in time to face this wake up call

If there’s a gift in all this mess
then let it be fully claimed
the way we used to live before
was overdue for a change
I don’t pretend to understand the meaning of it all
but I’ve seen it happen time & again, that rise after the fall

so my prayer
for us all
is that we rise
after the fall
in a way
that is wiser
And more loving than
before
and that the things we learn
we get to keep

that we couldn’t make before
